Prof. Nelson Maculan, co-Editor-in-Chief of RAIRO-RO, celebrates 80th birthday

We are delighted to congratulate Nelson Maculan, co-Editor-in-Chief of RAIRO - Operations Research, on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The celebration will occur on March 29th at the UFRJ Technology Center, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Colleagues and friends will gather “to celebrate a fruitful life devoted to Science, Culture and Education.”

On July 17, 2022, our friend and colleague Bernard Gendron passed away, after losing his battle against an unforgiving illness. Bernard was Professor of Operations Research in the Département d’informatique et de recherche opérationnelle (DIRO - Computer Science and Operations Research) of Université de Montréal and an important member of CIRRELT, the Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation.
2021 Impact Factor – huge 81% increase to 2.526

We are pleased to report that RAIRO - Operations Research’s impact factor has increased by 81% to 2.526 and the journal is now ranked 44/87 in Operations Research & Management Science (Q3). Its CiteScore also increased significantly this year. This is an excellent result for the journal which adopted the Subscribe-to-Open (S2O) open access model in 2021.

Paris, France, 8 March 2022: EDP Sciences and the Société de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles (SMAI) have announced today that six mathematics journals will continue to publish in open access under the Subscribe-to-Open (S2O) model in 2022*. This demonstrates the support from the library community for this equitable open access model which enables open access publication without article processing charges (APCs).

MMNP ranks Q1 following ground-breaking move to Subscribe-to-Open in 2020
Paris, France, 8 July 2021: We are pleased to report that our mathematics journals have performed particularly well in this year’s Journal Impact Factors ™ from Clarivate. The star performer is Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena (MMNP) which increased by 153% (from 1.642 to 4.157) having already increased by 73% last year. It is now ranked 13/108 in “Mathematics, Interdisciplinary Applications”, 6/265 in “Mathematics, Applied” and 10/58 in “Mathematical & Computational Biology” – all Q1 or the top 25% of the world’s most-cited journals. Indeed, every EDP Sciences maths journal indexed in Web of Science ™ has received an increased impact factor contributing to an unprecedented year in which all eligible EDP Sciences journals increased.
Momentum builds for Subscribe-to-Open as mathematics portfolio transitions to open access

Paris, France, 19 May 2021: It is confirmed that five mathematics journals published by EDP Sciences and the Société de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles (SMAI) will join Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena (MMNP) in open access under the Subscribe-to-Open (S2O) model in 2021*. The transition will further bolster S2O, a transformative model first introduced by Annual Reviews and recently endorsed by cOAlition S.

Congratulations to Prof. Nelson Maculan, co-Editor-in-Chief of RAIRO - Operations Research who has recently been elected a Fellow of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). To put this in context, “INFORMS Fellows are examples of outstanding lifetime achievement in operations research and the management sciences. They have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments and made significant contributions to the advancement of OR/MS over a period of time.” (INFORMS) This honour is reserved for a few select members with a total of just twelve members being elected this year.
2019 Impact Factor: 60% increase for RAIRO-RO

RAIRO – Operations Research is delighted to announce the increase of its Impact Factor by over 60% in 2019. The Journal Citation Reports®, released by Clarivate Analytics, indicate a 2019 Impact Factor of 1.025* meaning it is ranked 67/83 in the Operations Research & Management category. This increase is complemented by a CiteScore of 1.5, ranking 97/161 in the Management Science and Operations Research Category.
